Air Services:
The closest commercial air
services are
available through Cranbrook (1.5 hrs drive), Calgary (3.5 hrs drive),
and Kalispell, Montana (2 hr drive). See below for Cranbrook Airline

Recreational air service is available at
the Elk
Valley Airport and the Elko airstrip. The Elk Valley Airport has a
modern paved landing strip that is 4000 ft long and 100 ft wide, and is
located 8 km north of Sparwood (40 km NE of Fernie).
Small airplane and helicopter charter
services are
available. Big Horn Helicopters now offers service between Calgary,
Kimberley, Canmore, Panorama, and Fernie.
