The Fernie Chamber of Commerce is requesting proposals for general contracting work to complete a renovation of an existing commercial office building (currently leased by the Fernie Chamber) in downtown Fernie. The goal of this RFP is to receive proposals from qualified persons or companies who have the expertise and experience to execute the full project scope as outlined in the RFP.  The RFP deadline is 5:00 pm, Tuesday 2 June (local Fernie time).

I hope all our members and the wider Fernie community are keeping well. The pandemic playing out across the globe continues to severely disrupt people's lives, their physical and mental health, personal finances and the wider economy. Here at home, we are seeing all the same things.

As we approach the Easter long weekend and with the weather turning nicer, I want to strongly encourage our community to hold the line with provincial health orders and stay at home where possible. A few hours ago Alberta Premier Jason Kenney revealed the most likely projection is that Alberta's COVID-19 cases will spike in mid-May, and that hospitalizations will peak in late-May. No one knows for sure and the outcome will be shaped by the actions of the population.
